    Default Tools or silver

I am sure that all of you have faced this one, then again perhaps it's just me.

In discussing a design, it became aparent, that I could benefit from 0.9 silver wire. I stock 1 and 0.8, but if I spent 150 pound I could buy good plate, tongs, and freedom, but no silver alternitivly I could just buy the wire.

I seem to be able to spend a kings ransom in the name of perfection particularly on tools.

    Is it me ?

Carbide insert drawplates are particularly nice to use

If you are drawing down thin wires and have a fixed vice, then you need to buy a drawplate and hand tongs. About £80 inclusive of VAT will buy your freedom.

If later you wish to add drawlpates for heavier wires you need only to add a mini-winch from a yacht shop and you are all set up. Dennis.

I agree but the don't match her shoes, and clash with her handbag

Then again the don't match my shoes eithe! I am beginning to think making more is better than more tools.

Split the money - £75 on silver and £75 on tools. If you're buying just wire in that thickness 75 squids will go quite far. I'm sure we have all spent stupid amounts of money on really nice tools and barely use half of what we buy. I know I'm guilty of it
