Lindy, May I also ask what you were referring to when you mentioned seeing burnt out places in red enamel?

Sorry. When I looked at it I thought I saw several blackened holes in the enamel. Did I mistake them? This is what I thought looked as though they were burnt out areas. Apologies if I have mistaken them.

I think they're tube rivets Lindy. Nothing James does is ever less than perfect.

Lindy I've just spent some time nosing around your site and I wasn't disappointed;the bowls, in particular, are beautiful. I like your style, which is, I think, rather whimsical :-)

Just for interest, the red enamelled plate I showed was the top of an antique match box case. The 4 holes were fittings for threaded wires fittings on the stag's hooves. The box had been smashed and the stag needed new antlers.
    This was the restored piece.

Many apologies! I hadn't worked out how to check out an individual! I know now and will do so before I reply in future! Your work is beautiful and inspiring.

I bet you feel a bit red now too Lindy! Not to worry, we've all done similar. When I looked at those holes I did wonder if perhaps you didn't have your glasses on and thought they were flaws. You've passed your initiation test darling xxx
