    Default Working with sheet aluminium

    Hello,

Does anybody know the dangers of working with sheet aluminium? Ie using a piercing saw to make jewellery. Should I be wearing gloves/mask etc? I have been informed today that it causes cancer if ingested! I have read a bit about it, but thought I would drop you guys a line too. Any advice appreciated, thank you x x

I didn't realise that workshops could be such 'clean' rooms Kwant to warrant such an outfit! must take the dustpan & brush to mine more often.

Neve, if you find you need to anneal your aluminium if it work hardens, a tip I was given in uni was to smear the metal with wet hand tablet soap. it goes black under the torch but washes off.
