Default Fairtrade Fairmined Gold now in Netherlands

    Hi All,
Monday this week, was the official launch of Fairtrade Fairmined Gold here in Netherlands. The launch reception was held at a waterfront restaurant in Amsterdam. I was very pleased to be invited to the launch event which consited of presentations from ARM, Max Havelaar (our fair trade organisation), and guests of honour were miners from the Oro Verde mining communities of Colombia. Currently there are 10 certified producers of FT/FM jewellery here in NL. Interestingly there was a video of the workshop of one of our largest jewellery manufacturers; so different to my workshop.

As an artisanal producer of jewellery I found it all inspirational, but I have decided to stay with recycled gold and silver at this point.

Just thaought I would share this momentous time with you guys, Germany, Scandanavia and the States are the next countries to offer certified FT/FM gold.

    Enjoy your day.

It's a hard time to launch a new product, so it's sad to get the miner' hopes up. Many of us make do with recycled scrap just now. Dennis.

I am all for things ethical. I have registered with fair trade gold and have my flo-number :-))))))). Where do you get your recycled gold, Lesley, if not a secret of course? Mine comes from the USA, but may be there is a supplier in Europe? I was so disappointed when cooksongold stopped selling the full range.

For gold Cooksons do the "Cookson Ecogold" http://www.cookson-ecogold.com/ I believe when ordering on the website if Ecogold is available in a certain format or carat then it will suggest...
