Setting strip (NPY 009)

the computer says for these it was: Sterling Silver Setting Strip Ss0014 / Product Code : NVY 007 / SIL Setting Strip - Plain. 1.7mm (round) x 38. Av.Wt.=2.4g.

but I did also get the 2mm version as well: Sterling Silver Setting Strip Ss0012 /Product Code : NVY 009 /SIL Setting Strip - Plain. 2.0mm (round) x 33 Weight 1.70gm

I could be wrong (and according to the Mrs I am almost all of the time) but I seem to remember that the stone is set 1/2 way into each prong if you see what I mean if you measure from the centre of one prong to the other would the 3mm fit in ?
