    Default Gemstone Crumble.

Sounds like a pudding by Nigella, but I have a collection of cracked gemstones started in the ‘90s; not so many recently.

My idea was to crush them and use them for decoration, but when I made my Transmitter/receiver brooch with its telescopic areal, I painted the inside with epoxy and used red crystals for colour (first picture).

My second picture shows the reverse, the base held on with screws, the date 2004, and the cracked stone collection. There are signs of rust and I have changed to spectacle screws since. Dennis

That's great Dennis! I love the little antenna especially.

I have a huge collection of cracked stones - mainly ones that I've removed from pieces that are being scrapped with the intention of reusing them. I have just brought home some old pieces of jewellery of my mother's, and will no doubt be adding some cracked sapphires to the collection shortly.
