    Unhappy Sterling silver settings!

    Hi everyone,
I need to make up a very simple stone set pendant in silver but I'm finding it very difficult to find loose claw settings already made up. has anyone got any contacts for these? I've tried the obvious like cookson & kernowcraft. i'd like something a little better quality than a snaptite setting.

    Thanks

I suppose it depends on how big you need them. if they need to be largish, could you not make them up from soldering wire?

Have you tried Eurofindings? I think that would be first place I'd look if I wasn't making my own.

Hi George, I have just got an account with Eurofindings only to find that my minimum order is £20, and if you just want a "one-off" it works out expensive, especially if like me you are on a tight budget. Have to learn how to make them I suppose.

    Default Simple claws for silver.

A possible way is to make a tapered collet from say, 0.4mm sheet and then file out some of the parts. Dennis.
