    Default A Boys Toy.

This is only partly about jewellery making, so I have posted it here.

The cupboard doors on my patio are very exposed and were peeling badly. The only way to deal with that, was to burn off the paint and start again.

I did not relish the idea of using my blow torch to burn the paint and scorch the wood, so instead I opted for a DeWalt hot air gun. Something new to me, but a lot of fun. The paint, once warm enough, levered off like wet wallpaper, with no fumes and no scorched wood. It was all finished far too soon.

The booklet says that this tool can also be used for bending plastic sheet, so I presume that if you have a mandrel, maybe warmed first if metal, then a Perspex strip for a cuff, could be warmed and bent around it.
You would need work gloves to protect your hands. I used a DeWalt air gun DW340K, which was £29.99 in my local Leyland paint shop. Dennis.

    mmmm hardware. Nice!

Blowtorch can go horribly wrong. I would be really reluctant with one of those bad boys.
