    Default Hallmarking silver clay...

    Hi,

I know you need to have any pice over 7.78g hallmarked but I am not registered and really can't afford it for the the very occassional larger piece I may make. Could anyone tell me of anywhere that will send it away for you?

Cooksons offer a hallmarking service. From memory, it's the first FAQ if you click through to the knowledgebase on the main site. Otherwise, if you know anyone with their own mark, perhaps they could include your pieces with their own when they're submitting a batch?

    Hi Sara,

Some jewelers' suppliers have a hallmarking service, for instance Cooksons. (this is Cooksons site, but their new spell checker wants to call them Cook-sons, cookbooks, or Coonskins!) Also most colleges if you attend a course there, can provide this service, or even offer a discounted registration.

If not you have to sell it as 'white metal'. Regards, Dennis.

Sorry, George, been cross posting again, but how do you like Coonskins, eh?
