Probpelsm with gold/silver plated jewellery wire.

Hi,

I have been doing beading jewellery for a year now, and have also done some wirework jewellery. Unfortunately many of my wirework pieces become tarnished after a very short time. I buy the wire from the popular beading sites but none of them seem to last. If buying sterling silver or real gold is the only alternative this is very expensive. I really need help and guidance.

as you say Sooz the silver plate wire does get tarnished quite quickly but this can easily be cleaned up with a soft jewellers cloth or some soapy water and a soft brush. Try keeping your pieces in box with some silica gel packs and see if this keeps them from tarnishing so quckly
