    Default Average bracelet/bangle diameters

I've had some fun on this one recently; I usually go for an average of 2.5" on bangle diameters, but had a recently had a collection of women (horse owners!) find that they couldn't get them on over their hands. Cuff bracelets were less of a problem, so long as they had at least a 1" gap - it was really just hand size scuppering it.

I've got a bangle sizer, but it doesn't actually go up far enough to accommodate most of this lot (so I'll probably have to make a series for sizing only).

What do other people pick as an average for stock items?

(Beware of rounding on my conversions, BTW - they're almost all to the nearest half cm or 1/4")

Interestingly, you haven't got my most used size, which is a 21cm circumference. I do make quite a few larger, but rarely smaller, other than for teens.

I made up a series of 3mm round wire copper bangles in 5mm increments from 15 - 30mm to use for sizing.

I'm basing these on round bangles, rather than oval btw!

I was going in 1/4" increments and approximating was all... I think 21cm is the max my bangle sizer will do. And that's a fair point - unless I'm playing with geometrics, I usually only do round bangles, I save the oval mandrel for bracelets.

(and if I could see where I can edit the poll I would! Found it...)

I make some which go up to 7.5 cm but they seem to be a bit big for most people including the horsey people.

my smallest is 6 cm which fits me perfectly.
