Possibly a daft question - does anyone know if CZs can exhibit pleochroism?
I wouldn't have thought so - (this is just guesswork though) isn't one of the things about CZs that they are almost too pure?
I should read more carefully...
Isometric minerals cannot exhibit pleochroismSo basically, there's no dopant can get them to show pleochroism cos then they wouldn't have the cubic structure.Cubic zirconia is crystallographically isometric, an important attribute of a would-be diamond simulant.
