    Default Vat

Do you have to register with HRMC for VAT when you sell jewellery?
As I understand the rules you only have to register when your income is over £65000.

Registering for VAT below the threshold figure is voluntary. For some it can make sense for others not so. It really depends if you spend more on VAT than you take in. But as said it's up to you. I know I do not have a turnover anywhere near the £65K required

If you are over the threshold of £65,000 turnover over any 12 month period then you do HAVE to register for VAT. If you don't then its not a pretty picture.

We have recently gone through the whole process so if you need any further info just let me know .

I think it is £70000 now? And after you are registered with VAT you have to record your accounts properly.
