How do I Confirm solid 925 Silver vs Plated

Hi all,

I import a few Sterling Silver Earrings from China and the supplier suggests they are Sterling Silver however doesn't specifically state the word "solid", they are stamped 925 on the hook and the pendant.
How can I confirm whether the items are solid Sterling Silver or just plated?

Any assistance appreciated.

Buy a testing kit, scratch through the surface in a hidden place and test according to instructions.

There are a some sellers on Ebay that sell direct from China and they list findings and chains as 925 sterling silver at very very cheap prices, too cheap - but they are plated. I personally wouldnt import any silver from china as I dont trust the stuff
