Default Liver of sulphur and pickle

My friend has asked me to solder the jump rings on a bracelet for her as she's scared of losing the charms. I'm not familiar with it, but I'm fairly certain that they have liver of sulphur on them because of the colour.

The jump rings will need pickling after I solder them, will this take off the black colour?

I've put the question here as the charms are made of metal clay.

    Thanks

Yes, if you pickle, you'll almost certainly have to redo the liver of sulphur finish. You may even lose some of the finish just with the heating.

Pickling isn't entirely necessary. If you're light with the flux, you can polish it and any oxides off.

Then again, your friend my even like the nice shiny finish!
