Default Help finding 14g/1.60mm silver wire

    Hello,

I'm trying to find some 14g Sterling silver round wire, have tried cookson's and a couple of others but no one seems to stock it.

Does anyone have any ideas where I could get some please.?

    Thanks

I imagine this is because you're trying to follow a tutorial or pattern from an American source? Most of the time, 1.5 will do just fine. If it's maille, just adjust the AR to fit.

Thanks Peter, I've not drawn down wire before but will keep it in mind.

    Thanks Lisa for the tip.

Looked on their website and it's currently out of stock , so will try mailing them and ask when it will be back in stock.

George, is one of Maille Queen graduating chains patterns, but as it's the thickest wire used, so using 1.5mm shouldn't be an issue. Do you think?

    Thanks

1.5 would be fine - but you will need to adjust the ID to keep the AR correct. Otherwise, Lynne at the dragonfly company (she's a member here) has 1.6mm rings available.

Thanks George & Lynne, you were my next port of call as 1.6mm seems a hard thing to find. :-).
