I dont think its a dud thread Dennis but then i use one and know how it works, perhaps photogaraph it with a ring on and with a ring being reduced.

No, not dud at all! It's exactly that imagination, seeing a specialised tool as also a planisher and a press, that is both valuable and equally difficult to express! I'm reminded of 'Le Petit Prince'...
