I don't know what my jewellery says about me but I know what it means to me - the creative outlet I've been needing for years!
It started off as a bit of a splurge but I'm now trying to be more patient and think about things more before I dive in.

I'm not so sure that the finished items I make say as much about me as the process I go through when making them does.
Well, I guess they probably do, I'm just not so aware of it.
I do often find I sit down to make something but I go off on a tangent and end up making something completely different. These are the beads that are the best!

For me, it's the making too but it's also a journey as my stuff has changed hugely since I started 5 years ago. I feel that it's what I was born to do and my only regret is that I didn't start doing it years ago.

I have absolutely no idea what my jewellery must say about me - there are so many styles and techniques that I enjoy and I constantly have a head full of ideas and not enough time to make them - that I seem to cover a wide range of styles. Perhaps that's what it says - "she has ants in her pants".

I think I most enjoy working with pure metal - applying heat and pressure to make it into something else. I just made a copper and silver pendant (can't link directly to it, but I blogged about it on 10th August if you want to look) and that started life as some copper electrical wire on a wooden spool, bound in several layers of cotton threads and found in my grandfather's old tool box. He made things himself and was very talented and he'd get a real kick out of me taking some of his old junk and seeing the beauty in it and making something new. If I'm lucky, someone the other side of the world will end up wearing it. That's an incredible thrill to me - I just love the process of making things - if someone then gets to wear it, that's a fantastic bonus.

I haven't been doing the jewellery long enough to have a style, just now I'm working on the move to Cornwall but when we get settled I'm sure my creative flair will shine through and I'll be making lots and lots of nice pieces for the Mrs to either wear or put on the website for sale.

For me its the chance to be a little creative again, to achieve making something, and hopefully something pleasing to the eye, its about exploring my imagination, and hopefully making people smile. If someone buys something i have made (as yet i havent shown anyone any jewellery, but i have sold tiaras and candles etc) then i feel so chuffed with myself, i actually feel like i am worth something for a little while.

Hey honey, you're worth loads whether you can make jewellery or not. Please remember that. The sense of achievement is fab though. Keep going, it'll be a brilliant way to let yourself shine through and rediscover who you are, we all need that after years of grind/domesticity/kids/moaning OH's etc....
