Oh wow Gemma!! Those earrings are great! I have trouble 'opening' the forms too, even after annealing following hammering. If anyone wants to know more about foldforming there are some more examples and instructions HERE.

Ley - I love what you have done with the sea glass and I can definately see the seaweed/rockpool inspiration in the draping beadwork!

Having seen the pictures of viking weave that Nic (MuranoSilver) posted a while ago I spotted a kit for viking weave while at Towcester racecourse for Flame Off 2010, so I picked up the kit.

I finally got a chance to play with it a couple of weeks ago so here are my 2 finished pieces.

The first is a plain double weave in sterling silver with simple end caps (bought I'm afraid as I have no idea how to make such things) and a hand made clasp:

This one is made with silver plated wire and hand made end caps of spiraled wire, they're a bit big for the weave size so I plan to practice that a bit more. I added the black beads as the weave turned out slightly shorter than I hoped. I will be changing it to use thicker jump rings as I think they will suit it better - I only spotted that problem after the photos were taken

I would never have found this fun new pastime with you Nic - thanks.

Thanks Nic - it's all down to you anyway

I must admit - the first single weave I did in silver plated wire disappeared after I showed it to a friend, she loved it so I let her have it especially as she was with me when i bought the kit. So I made her a sterling silver version for her birthday too.

I find it grows really quickly as I weave it while sat in front of the TV.

This is my Bambi. As some of you know he was killed a few weeks ago, and I had the idea of making a tribute piece. Anyway, after a couple of weeks ill health, and screaming matches with builders and decorators, I finally had the time last week to sit down and do something, and this is what I ended up with - maybe not so original but everyone that's seen it says it's beautiful, so I gotta be happy with that!

I think it's wonderful that you've made something to remember Bambi by
Putting his name on it makes it even more special....
