    Thanks George, just what I needed! Will print it off and keep it handy.

    The conversion chart I was looking at was showing AWG and SWG so that's where I getting confused thinking I needed to use SWG. Now I shall erase that from my mind

    You do occasionally come across tutorials that use SWG (it's used widely in Canada), and one of the popular jewellery manuals do so as well, which just adds to the confusion. I try to stick to mm for just that reason!
