    Default The Down Side.

You know you’ve arrived when you spend ages making a necklace for a friend, but at your next visit you find it in her cutlery drawer.
Cut your finger, melt your brooch, in jewellery making Sod’s Law operates. If anything can go wrong, it will.
Measure twice, make once. And try on rings before setting the stones.
    Have a nice week, Dennis.

I hope you stole the necklace back on the sly?! Then you can give it to someone a bit more appreciative ;-)

That is so inconsiderate! I´d love it if I was given a necklace or gold bracelet handmade my my friend! So much more special than something from the shop.

Odd how people differ. Some folk think that anything hand made is a "cheap" option and seem completely unaware of the time and effort that might have been put in - let alone the cost of the materials. I have a good friend who thinks like this and tends to be attracted by "designer" labels. Needless to say, I don't make anything as a gift for her now - I'm not sure it's even about the "quality" of the finished product. Luckily I have other friends and family who seem to appreciate that something hand made is, perhaps, a bit more special and individual so I enjoy making stuff for them. I think they enjoy wearing it!

The cutlery drawer seems like a strange place to leave jewellery!
Don’t be glum about it I’ m sure lots of other people would appreciate it.
