    Default I'm a 'Newby, be nice to me, it's my 1st day & my 1st time.:D

My name is Tara, pronounced Tar-ah! [like the sticky black stuff on the streets]
I am a student, getting my Certificate in Jewellry Arts in June [2 months from now! ] I will then be a 'Goldsmith'! & looking forward to staring my career!
I would like an 'Idiots Guide to Using this site' Please! May I post a link to my Jewellry/Facebook pg here?
Also, what do you use... borax/methyl hydrate, or borax/rubbing alcohol? What is better, pros & cons Please! May I post a link to my Jewellry/Facebook pg here?
    thanking you in advance!

    Hi Tara
    to the forum
Congratualtions on all your hard work & getting through your Jewellery Arts programme you must be so excited ~
    knowing that certificate is coming!
The sites pretty easy to use but it you're not sure of what a button does e.g. the little icon that looks like a photo or the B
then hover your mouse over it and most of the time a little text box will appear telling you what it does

Yes you can post your social networking links as a short signature
You go to your profile (very top of the page under "My Profile") and there's a section for signatures there
I use Auflux so no help on your Borax question I'm afraid

    Hello Tara and
Woohoo- well done on your jewellery arts programme.
Can't help with you question though. I have a borax cone but have no idea why you'd be using it with alcohol. Then again- I am a beginner and know very little about anything

In this months Jewellery Artist Lapidiary Journal pg 52, Noel Yovovich suggests using "Magic Flame" mixed
with Alcohol because it evaporates or burns off without moving the solder. Guess Borax could be used instead
    of Magic Flame?

Magic Boric (affectionately known as Magic Boris) is superb. 13th item down the page.
