hi milo, been using ecover in my ng tumbler for the past 3 months, all fine!
I also use Ecover (for the washing up), so I'll give that a go in the tumbler too. I don't know what's up with my Barrelbrite, though.
Might already have been suggested, but I got an old stocking and put trhe open end over the tumbler when I empty mine, and it collects all the shot, and allows you to rinse. Once rinsed reverse the process to put the shot back, fish out the silver, et voila. Never lost any shot yet!
I use a seive to catch the contents of my tumbler - but sometimes it bounces so I might try the stocking suggestion instead!

Well i've been tumbling for over a yr now and i use fairy liquid,,,, shoul i not do this ?? and if not then why ?? I would hate to think that it would do damage further down the road.... I also use a sieve to get my items out and to rinse the steel shot...... I then return the shot to the barrel and cover with clean water, have had no probs .... Mine is a NG too......Noisy enough, but what a lovely noise !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ooh, I might be a bit of a tumble sl*t.
I decant the gunky water into a cup, fish the shinies out with a crochet hook and pour the gunky water back in. Job done.
I'll get my coat.......
