    Default Silver clay stitches

I thought I'd try knitted jewellery with a cable. It's not quite done yet, the bezel cup needs attaching and the stone setting. The top of the cable splits and curves to make the bail. Forgive the crappy picture on my mucky workbench - I'll try and get a better pic later.

Very nice - and if that's a crappy picture I can't wait to see a good one!

Wow that's fine - what gauge/size wire and needles did you use? I never got on with knitting so wouldn't really know where to start.

Wow, another thing to go on my list of things to try. I had a go at crochet with wire, but it looked like a dog's dinner.

Yeah, I tried the crochet with wire and abandoned the technique as something not for me! That piece looks great. It's so detailed and neat too.

Thanks. Actually I struggle to knit and crochet with wire too - my wire stitches always seem so loose that there's not really any texture or stitch detail, and those are the bits I love best about knitting (both the process and the end result). So I knitted the design with some teeny needles (1mm maybe?) and silk yarn, then made a mould and used silver clay.
I have a tiny piece of lace to finish tonight and I'm hoping that will be my next bit of "knitted" jewellery.

Thanks, here you go! I included a penny for scale.

Thanks Nic, I'm a bit nervous about attaching the bezel - if only I'd decided it needed it before I cooked it!
