    Well... I wasn't using insulated because I was soldering a pin onto an earring but I have lost quite a lot of sensation in myhands because of one thing and another so don't always feel the heat as quick as others

    Hope your nail is soon better, but really you must use insulated tweezers when handling anything hot, especially as you have this sensation problem.

    actually as I have a fascination for soldering (just love watching the metal get hot) it is better for me with the un insulated, less chance of melting them!

    I'm new on here today, but this thread caught my eye! That burnt nail sounds very ouchy....interested to know what kind of torch were you using??!!
