Cold enamelling is the popular term used to describe the process of applying decorative epoxy & UV resins. Unlike traditional vitreous enamels, no firing is required for them to cure, hence the term “cold cure” or “cold enamel”.

The resins can be applied to virtually any material including gold, silver, bronze and brass!

For information on enamelling look for the Guild of Enamellers website. I can highly recommend joining, it is a fantastic organisation

These went straight on my *must have* list.

I love that they are entire kits as well so a novice (like myself) doesn't have to wonder what else I have to buy!

Does anyone have examples of work which have used these cold enamels? I'd love to see!

    Question

I like the look of this new range and am keen to have a go. I would like to ask if there will be top ups available of the colours in the future.

    Thanks.

I wondered that too - I've just bought one of the sets of transparent enamels (blues), but if there was individual colours available I would have probably bought a wider selection of colours without buying the two sets (reds and blues).

Anyone had good results using a blowtorch to fire enamels or is a kiln essential? I have use of a kiln in the local college but have also tried to fire enamels with a blowtorch a few times at home with little success. Any tips?
