Help for an engagement ring =]?

Hi there!
I'm in the middle of a custom order and its for a gold engagement ring. I've sent the person a design that she really likes and I've got a few questions (I'm stressing over it quite a lot to be honest...=]..I've not worked much with gold..)
First, she says she wants "18ct yellow gold setting", does she mean the ring has to be yellow gold or just the setting (and the ring gold)
Also, she wants a gemstone (sapphire or ruby), what would you advise for setting (rub over/claw?). Could you please have a quicky look at the first design I gave her and tell me what you think..!

Seeing as normally the setting would be in themiddle it would cover up your lovely fretwork idea
Re whether she means the ring or the 18k setting only you need to ask her on that one

How about a really small stone in the corner of the fretwoork (left up)? How small can a ruby be?

You could put a really tiny stone in but that may not be what she's envisioning.
My suggestion would be to ask her to draw out what sort of thing she's thinking of....(even roughly)
That way a lot of work will be saved on your part and she'll see for herself what things may/may not work
