    Default Pictures for web site

    Hi,
I've bought a new camera to take loads of pictures for my site. My last attempts weren't great and I only managed to use 6 of the dozens of pictures I took. Has anyone any advice about how to get the best shots?
    Thanks,
    Caroline

    Hi,
They're pieces of jewellery - fingerprints, leaves, earrings etc.

A light tent or home made light bucket would helps a lot.
There's instructions on how to make them in the Tutorial section
Natural daylight or daylight bulbs will help too

If you post some of your pictures in your profile album then some of the
ace photographers on site might be able to help

Have a play about with the manual focus, macro settings and white balance on your camera as well. I find that different settings suit different pieces. I've got a small light tent like Nic mentions which I light with two lamps with daylight bulbs in them.

Don't forget that you can also play about with brightness, contrast, colours, and cropping your pictures on your computer with software such as Photoshop.

I'll try to post the pictures tomorrow. Have had hubby making a diffuser and light box in exchange for going to the rugby on Saturday.

Thanks for all the invaluable advice. I'm learning lots!!!
