    Default pickling

I know not another question about pickling!
This is my second lot of copper clay to pickle the first lot cleaned up fine, but this lot have been in a slow cooker since yesterday am. and still covered in firescale.

    Has anyone got any ideas?

    Will tumbling help?

P.s. I have looked through previous threads still can't find the answer

No it wasn't in metal it has a crockery insert.
Yes the pickle was warm, just a thought can it get too hot?

Did you do the last lot in the same batch of pickle? It could well be spent if you've already cleaned up a lot of copper in it.

Not sure what type of pickle you're using, but I'd mix a fresh batch and try again.

I did put it in the old pickle at first, but then changed it when I could see that it wasn't working.
It's called safety pickle salts. I've just been trying to take it off using a file with only a little success. it seems to be backed on.

I think I might have found the reason why the firescale is so bad on that batch, I put it into acold kiln, the first lot was put into a hot kiln.
Could this be the answer do you think?

Nope mine was put into a cold kiln and bought up to temp.
It might be how fast it was dropped into the water from the hot kiln..

Do you mean that it wasn't put in fast enough?
