    Yes -some people have pulled the pieces out one by one & noticed the last piece
    often has more difficult to remove fire scale on than the first.
    With mine I tip them all in together - which is quite nerve wracking
    (visions of hot metal skittering across the floor).

    Thanks for your help and advice everyone, you will be pleased to hear that I put them in yet another fresh lot of pickle and they are finally clean.
