Now I'm no longer a mod, I feel a bit easier about making suggestions or backing others.

Some time ago Peter (P.J.Bond) suggested that we have a forum marketplace where items that are used in various branches of jewellery making could be sold. I could never understand why that suggestion was not pursued further.

I, for instance, have PMC books that I bought before I realised PMC is really not for me. They're as new and sitting unloved on a shelf.

Peter, it turns out, makes some equipment that would be extremely useful and that would not compete with Cooksons. I know too that George makes some stunning findings - completely different from anything Cookson's stock or are likely stock.

Is there any chance we could take another look at this, as a service to forum members. With over 1,000 of them now, it's a thought. Isn't it?

I agree that this would be useful Di. If it is made clear that the transaction is between the two individuals and outwith the responsibility of Cooksons, then I cannot see what the problem is.

I'm hoping for world peace but I'd also like something shiny as well...

It sounds like a brilliant idea -I'd be worried about people abusing it though...

I think it is a good idea as, if you say Di, it does not interfere or compete with Cookson's stock.

I like the idea of this too. People abusing it could be warned/banned as necessary

Love the idea for books and things we don't want but would like to pass on.
I'm not so sure about the selling of our "wares". Wouldn't that have to be available to everyone for it to be fair, and wouldn't it change the nature of the forum?
