    Question Concave Cuff Bracelet

How do you make a cuff bracelet with a concave surface on the inside? I would like to texture the silver also, either by hammering or in the rolling mills. I did have a custom made tool that I could bend the metal after texturing but unfortunately I no longer have it. I want it to be wide enough to bezel set stones or enamels.

The easiest way is to form it using a sinusoidal stake. Hammered textures work fine, but it's harder to shape roll printed metals - though it is possible if you stick to wooden or nylon mallets.

I've been using a sinusoidal stake for years but I now use a special anticlastic bangle tool on my Bonny Doon hydraulic press which is fantastic and take all the hard work out of it. You can use whatever textures you like. As said, you do need a nylon cross pein hammer if you use a stake. I've never been able to find one in this country and got mine from Rio Grande.

There is a Delrin sinusoidal stake on eBay at present from the States, works out to about £60 - but you would probably be charged VAT and duty on that which would bring it up a bit more.
You can get a steel one in the UK Sinusoidal Stake for £99 plus postage. HS Walsh also do them at the same price.

There's UK one there too... Strangely, it's almost exactly the same as the one I use.

The Delrin anticlastic stake currently for sale (in the UK) on EBay is one of mine, I'm just a little bit cautious about doing anything to promote it here.

(With the - hopefully obvious - footnote that if it *is* a problem I'm quite happy to discuss it with the powers that be!)
