I've never been there so I can't be much help, but I'd love to live near an assay office, it must be so much cheaper to collect stuff! If you do pop in could you tell the people who stamp the marks to up their game a bit, may be tell them to go do some more training somewhere

Well worth the trip. They covered the mechanics of the assay process in some detail - and it was a great opportunity to find out how best to submit pieces.

And there's the opportunity to go shopping in Hatton Garden too...

May be we should storm them together Jay? I haven't found them so bad recently, since I've been spelling it out for them (where to put the marks etc) but I still resent paying so much... especially since I have my own sponsors and 925 punches Bet its an interesting place though with all the different departments.

I've always wanted to visit cooksons... what's that like? Can you see anything or is it just an 'order and collect' service?

    Default Visiting Cooksons

They are lovely but it is just visiting the counter to collect a pre order or get something else. When I last visited I drooled at the man walking past with a huge bag of gold casting grains.
If you take your scrap they photograph the stuff ( to see you haven't got tons of nicked 'tom' I suspect) and then you get the money sent to you.

Heavans door, only wait to do your transaction!!!!!!

I can't decide to register with London or Birmingham neither is close, so it'll be a postal thing.

Hope not like going postal in the USofA

another thing to sort out next year.
