Unhappy Breakages in knotted pearl bracelets

Can anyone help? I recently have had a couple of bracelets returned to me. The thread has broken at the connection with the catch at the the gimp wire. I use Griffin Powercord - a high tec fibre marketed for pearl stringing (13.5 kg break). It does seem to me that using either this or halfing silk thread at this point in a bracelet does make for a weakness. Any suggestions?

    Hi
Griffin powercord is strong stuff which should not fail. I've never had a problem. When you say you are halfing it what do you mean? Are you splitting it to get a doubled thread back through the first and last pearls to finish? That might be why. Better to enlarge the drill hole to 1mm and use a full thread or drop down a thread size and do it that way
    cheers
