    Default Enamel and PMC experiment!

I'm used to working with silver and other metals so PMC is new to me, here is my first experiment - I call it the 'Anticythera Pendant' and its decorated with some enamels that I ordered from Cooksons last promotion (couldn't resist!!). I loved the fact that I use my (limited) clay skills and it led me to make something that I would NEVER have designed in silver - it looks nothing like my other work! I used Kingfisher enamel in the crevices by painting it in wet, then after that was fired I put a couple of layers of Elf Green on top. The enamel firing isn't perfect by any stretch but I quite like the variation in colour. A much more intuative way of working and a refreshing change for me!

Ah, it's worked this time! THis is the pendant I mentioned in the previous post. As you can see it's quite different to my other work:

    Full Moon pendant.

    Heavy Heart pendant, comission.

When I have a bit more time I might add some pics of my more 'flamboyant' work, these are comissions so not really representative of what I REALLY enjoy making!!

Ta, yes it is fantastic stuff, I used to work in a ceramics factory making murals and have re-awoken some memories of techniques we used to use there. I found it great for quick ideas and it'll be great making one-offs with PMC rather than sending waxes to be cast.

I love the way the colours have lifted the texture in the enamelled pendant.
