Question Doming punches - 12 or 24 punches?

    Hi Guys,

I'm just about to order a doming block and punches and wonder.... what size block would you get? Is it worth ordering the full 24, or for a novice should I start with ordering just 12 punches??

    Thanks
    xx

I got a cube style block, and only 6 punches, about fifteen years ago.
I have still not used them.

Jules, you'll be fine with a smaller set. I use pretty much all of mine, but for what I suspect you want to do, I'd skip a size most of the time anyway.

Many thanks for that George, very useful.

I'm off to bed now, back tomorrow, if we haven't blown away up here.... bit windy tonight.

That's interesting Ben - if you haven't used them, what do you use instead??

I've got a small brass cube and a set of large wooden punches and also a set of smaller steel punches. Most of them get used at some time or other in different ways.

    Hi Carole,

Thanks for replying, its useful to know what works. As a newbie I am now thinking of getting some wood punches, instead of steel, as I could spend the extra money on other tools.
