Hiya everyone - thought I'd post some work in progress. This is a necklace I am making - I haven't tried setting a diamond before. This picture is before I have done the final polish and set the gem...

More to come - I'm trying lost wax carving which is good fun!

It is gold wire - which proved much harder to use than I anticipated. I overheated it and it went up in a puff of smoke! I had to re-apply hence the slightly gritty texture. Next time I would apply after soldering the tube and the bail but before the diamond. Next time I'll get a bigger diamond too....

I started some lost wax casting at uni - never got round to finishing it though...something I'll have to have another crack at at some point

btw! I'm not brave (or rich) enough to set diamonds yet lol
