    Default Lipstick entrepreneurs

New research this week claims the recession has led to a growth in female-owned businesses and the expression 'Lipstick entrepreneurs' has been coined. Does using words like 'lipstick' give the wrong image of businesswomen and promote inequality and discrimination ? Does it paint a picture of boardrooms full of Bet Lynches everywhere or do you think it is an apt expression?

I'm not sure why, but I suddenly had a mental image of Jason tottering around in high heels, bright red lipstick, mini skirt and a blonde wig and I'm fairly certain he might comment on this

It's just irritating - if it'd been a growth in man-owned businesses the headlines would just be "Small business growth!"

Ooh, look at them wimmens out there making their own pin money. *ahem*

One false move and you could end up being interviewed about this on Woman's Hour (and they are well hard )

Would they be interviewing me on my acceptance onto the Eunach High Council?

I don't even know why any distinction by gender even needs to be made. I don't think it's creating an image I want to be labelled with.
