    Default maille and lampwork

A lovely lampworker friend of mine has been having a bit of a rough time recently, so I just sent her this - made with her own beads and some sterling and copper maille. The copper should darken down nicely to match the red of the beads in a while (I hope!)

It's always very nerve racking to send beads back to their birth mothers somehow!

These are gorgeous, George. And very timely for me too - I made a combo sterling and copper byzantine bracelet. I don't really want to oxidise it but the copper looks very, well, coppery! How long about will it take to darken down?

OOh George, those are lovely beads and beautiful maille work. Its a shame your friend has been having a rough time recently. Give her a big from me.

Oh George , what a lovely, kind and thoughtful thing to do, I am sure she will be touched to receive it and be thankful that she has such a caring friend. And the necklace is nearly as spectacular as you !!

Really not very long at all if it's left out in the air. A wash in tap water and being left to dry in warm place speeds it up too, without really darkening the silver. I like mixed copper and silver, but not when the copper's too 'new penny' for some reason.
