I’m surprised a household iron gets hot enough, I’ve been meaning to have another go with keum boo and using an iron sounds a great place to start … N

You're right Nick. When I started this, I was thinking about an old fashioned non steam iron with a thermostat. They can be quite cheap, and on mine set high, a bubble of water would dance and hiss when set on high, but no holes in the sole plate. Dennis.
Something I’ve not done much of. Had a taster at an evening class, paid a few quid per square centimetre. Just had a look to see how much it would cost to have another go … all things must go up I suppose … Buying a whole sheet to play with seems a bit extravagant at the moment, maybe one day if I get a bit more serious with it all … N

You need Gold "Foil" not leaf, I am paying about $70AU per sheet
I misnamed it Bob. I’ve been using it for years from Cookson but recently found a cheaper and thicker source. The price could be anything from £40 to £80 at its most expensive over the years. It’s not something to be wasted anymore. Just looked and they want £105, that’s shocking!
