    Question Stonesetting - best books

    I am hoping for some recommendations for books on stone setting please.

    The trouble is that stone setting books can repeat information that you already have, so you don't need many. This one is a relatively modern candidate:

    Be sure to find the little box that says 'read sample', which is a valuable free read.

    In the end, it will be best to find a course, where you can get some personal attention, and also use this forum for trouble shooting.

    You will also need to look at headband magnification, and eventually microscopes. Dennis

    And Grether, of course.

    Most of the setters I know use micromotors and powered engraving kit, rather than the more manual techniques that tend to be emphasised. There's a cost & a learning curve.
