Do many of you use these? If so what are the advantages please. I am making smaller more complicated items and would like a fine hot flame without the complication or expense of the little torch.

I used to use one I don't any more, I now have Smiths Little Torch which makes it redundant they take a bit of practice, but then that applies pretty much to anything, you use you mouth to vary the flame they are usually very inexpensive, they will not produce a flame as hot as bottled Oxygen.
A very well known Australian Jeweller uses one all the time.

I haven’t used one since 1975/76. I honestly can’t remember that far back but must have learnt how to use one as there wasn’t another option until we moved into the new all singing all dancing building. You know what I’ve used since so won’t go there again!
