I still consider myself a beginner, I'm certainly no professional but I do pride myself on a good quality make and finish. I mostly use one of these for sanding, finishing, polishing, (some) drilling, texturing with burrs etc and it works a treat. It does only take 2.35mm mandrels though but most items mounted on mandrels are that size (always chck listings). I do also have a cheap and cheerful pendant motor with has an adjustable chuck, bought a cheap quick change handpiece for it as well as a cheap hammer handpiece which works great too but I do prefer to use a hammer and punch for hammered settings, I just like the process. But the cheap micromotor is something I've been using for about 4 years now.
