    Default Bezel strip height.

I am sure I have asked this before, but can I find it……no!
I have a turquoise oval cab that is vertically 4.5mm high to where it then rounds over. What width should I allow to be able to “fold” the bezel over to secure the stone? Also using 0.3 mm thick bezel strip do you think I can use sterling silver rather than pure silver? I know it will be a bit harder to smooth over but is it feasible? The ends of the oval are not too tight…I think. Photo to follow.
    Thanks again for your advice.

Hi David it needs to be just over where it starts rounding, I stopped using the 0.3mm fine silver strip as it is too flimsy , I use either 0.4 or 0.5mm fine silver depending on the size of the cab.

Thanks for your thoughts. So 0.4 or 0.5 fine silver……you don’t think I can get away with using sterling silver due to its increased “resistance “ to burnishing over?
