    Default Types of Earwires

Hi everyone, been a while. I've been making a lot of wax carved items. The latest are a pair of deer. Somehow the usual earwire didn't seem appropriate so made some kidney earwires. That got me thinking, are there any tutorials for other closing type earwires I can try?

    Hi Sheena.
Here are some images of fancy earwires simple enough to be copied, and also some tutorials on YouTube.

In some instances it is possible to double up a long wire, bend two together, and cut them apart at the end, to get them identical. Regards, Dennis.

    Hi Sheena,
Those are lovely. The only thing I would add is I always use an open jum pring to any earring fittings I have soldered, so that the jumpring opens, rather than the ear lobe getting caught/torn. ouch!

That's a good point Jules. I hadn't thought of that.

you are welcome. It was something I read on here, so have always used the open jump ring idea ever since. x
