Need help in cutting rose quartz raw chunk stones

Hello,

Do you have any suggestions how to professionally cut rose quartz raw chunks. The purpose is to make a horizontal line cut and transform it to a card holder / stand. The cut would be more like removing a thin slice out of the stone.
I understand this is made with a blade, but do you have any suggestions for specific tools or machines for a beginner.
I have never cut gems or minerals, but I am eager to learn a new skill.

You would require a Diamond saw and the saw would need a coolant supply plus a vise to hold the stone.

Hi Anne Marie , It can be done with a Tile saw . A vice isnt really required just be aware of the dangers and use common sense . Plenty of water . Any questions then please send me a PM . John

By tile saw do you mean a powered circular saw, that is what I was suggesting, only reason I suggested a vise is if you are not au fait with using one a slight twist will leave you with a broken stone.
