Well I'm sorry to contradict friends and colleagues on the forum.
No offence intended, but the more glue and resin you encase those tiny bits of quartz in, the more you will obliterate their contours and reflectivity- just like dropping them into water.
If that's the look you're after, why not abandon the quartz and decorate the ring with resin possibly containing grains of silver?
    Dennis.

I agree with Dennis Quartz will simply disappear I f you wish to to use some sort for resin you will need to use a stone with a contrasting colour e.g. Turquoise or highly coloured Opal ( expensive ) and in my experience polish it once what ever you use is fully hardened.

The quartz was essential. It's a bit of quartz my wife picked up whilst climbing in the Alps. So I wanted to turn it into something other than a random stone we find in a drawer every now and then.
I'm quite happy with the result and learnt a fair bit whilst making it.

Glad you got it made as visualised. Did you use glue and resin? Dennis.

Always happy to be proved wrong, I am glad it turned out so well, I had the impression that you were going the crush the quartz much smaller ( don't know where I got that from )

Yes this was just some super glue I had in the house to make this.
I blackened the silver beneath the inlay also as I thought it would look good

Now that I understand it a bit better, I found several videos on the subject such as this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Umc9bzPsWnE

Also this Canadian company might give you some ideas https://ringsupplies.com/?gclid=Cj0K...saAk8REALw_wcB
