Default Collet without a collet block

I have an 10mm x 6mm rectangular tourmaline (without corners). I think it would look great in a collet set into the ring band. Is it possible to make one without a collet block? I'm sort of hesitant to try as I think getting the slopping sides to fit might just be a hellish job. What do you think?

The difficulty will be getting the eight sides exact Sheena, even with three dividers. The sloping sides are no problem. Dennis.

Thanks Joseph, will check it out. If I manage one I think it would look stunning with the shank I had cast. Fingers crossed.
