I would reiterate that it’s a one off and you’d be stealing another company’s design with all the financial clout that Cartier would have you would be breaking the law. Letting the customer down, really? Is this a joke?

Ah well I wouldn't imagine that I can copy it exactly, as for one there isn't enough detail, nor would I want to, and it's the style the customer likes, not the exact one, otherwise they would buy that one. So no, not a joke, but thank you for the feedback.
