What are they like? Do they feel like a quality instrument. I already have these one's from cookson but they're not quite up the the job when you're doing a lot of measuring for wax carving. I wanted to upgrade with the starrett ones.

M&W are good, but I'd go for 3" ones if you're using them for carving small stuff.

I’ve had my Moore & Wright since 1976, 2 sizes and I inherited more from a precision machinist friend when he gave me all his tools years ago.
I’d agree with Peter on size, I use the 3 ins more than the other

I'd say they are definitely worth buying and use both my 3" and 6" regularly.
